The names of some of the following introduced people are mentioned in various sections in this website and some of them are still breeding Shar-Pei today (2010). As at 2006, the core group in Hong Kong promoting the traditional Shar-Pei is the Zhongguoquan Baocunhui. This group later changed name to "Chinese Original Breed Preservation Club" in 2007 due to joining with another group of people, the Tibetan Mastiff fancier and the working committee reorganized.

Matgo Law is already widely known in the Western world because he was the first person to call to save the Shar-Pei from extinction. His name is mentioned in the American Kennel Club "The Complete Dog Book" chapter on Shar-Pei. This original trend developed into the meat-mouth what is commonly seen in the West today.

Around the same time, there have been many other people who promoted the traditional Shar-Pei in Hong Kong and China.

Lana Tsan, Hing Him Dedicated promoter of Shar-Pei in Dali, China since the 1990's.
Wong, King Kwok Started with the Tang dogs as early as the 1960's
Li Fook Wah A pioneer in traditional bone-mouth Shar-Pei
Law, Wah On (Law Kaw) One of the leader in traditional bone-mouth Shar-Pei
Koo, Chung Yin Breeder of the legendary "Siu Loong" (Little Dragon)
Nelson Lam, Hon Wan Chairman of Shar-Pei Club Hong Kong.
Lui, Wing Cheong Exported the "Lama Prince" to UK in the 1990's.
