 1980`s   China opens door to the world 
    Taiwan importing meat mouth SP from the U.S.
 1981 Earliest imorts of SP into England  
  UK imported 2 Shar-Pei. One male from USA and one female  from Matgo Law. Both with HKKKA registration.  
 1982 Ms. Pat Pearce bred her first litter of SP.   
  Kennel Club of England accepted Shar-Pei registration.   
 1983 Shar-Pei Club of Great Britain formed.   
  Bourgoyne Kennel imported 12 SP from China, U.S., and Germany
 
 1984 Sunday Times Magazine in UK published an article with photo titled "A Shar-Pei for fashion". (Dec. 1984)   
 1985 Kennel Club of England published interim standard for Shar-Pei. (Mar.27, 1985)   
  United Kennel Club of America opened registration of Shar-Pei   
 1986   North American Working Dog Association (NASA) Far East established in Hong Kong by Ms. Lana Tsan. Began conservation work on the traditional Shar-Pei. 
 1988 Accepted into the AKC Miscellaneous Class. (May 4, 1988)   
 1990 Crufts first Shar-Pei BOB from Bourgoyne Kennel  Mr.Li Bu Jing founded the Chinese SP Preservation Club in Taiwan. 
  CSPCA reformatted Shar-Pei standard. (Apr. 1990)  
  Mr. Matgo Law judged a Shar-Pei Specialty Show in Phoenix, Arizona, U.S.A. (Nov. 1990)  Ms. Pat Pearce first visit to Dali together with Mary Kerr. Trip organized by Ms. Lana Tsan of NASA (Far East). (Nov. 1990) 
1991  Standard proposed by Hong Kong Kennel Club accepted by FCI in Belgium.  Ms. Pat Pearce second visit to Dali together Ms. Lana Tsan of NASA (Far East). (Aug. 1991) 
  AKC approved Shar-Pei standard (Oct.8, 1991)  Lana Tsan interviewed Mr. Matgo Law at his Down Homes Kennel (Oct.28, 1991) 
1992  The Midland Shar-Pei Club established. (Mar. 1992)  First Shar-Pei Club established in Hong Kong 
    Ms. Lana Tsan organized the Hong Kong Canine Hall of Fame Banquet. Ms. Pat Pearce was invited as honorable guest together with Mr. Igarashi from JKC. Met with Nelson Lam, Lee Fok Wah and Matgo Law in Hong Kong. 

1993

  Between 1993 to 1995, highly wrinkled meat-mouth Shar-Pei was shipped backed to Dali from Hong Kong. Dali original gene pool irreversibly mixed with meat-mouth genes 
1994  FCI approved standard No.309 on Shar-Pei. (Jan.25, 1994)   
  AKC accepted SP as non-sporting group in shows.   
1995  Mr. Matgo Law judged in Midland SP Club show. Judged over 100 dogs at Burgoyne's Open Day.  Ms. Pat Pearce third visited Dali to further research on the situation of Shar-Pei. (May 16, 1995) 
    Shar-Pei Club Hong Kong first SP specialty show at Junction Park, Kowloon. (Oct.8, 1995) 
    Dali Shar-Pei Club established in Dali. (Oct.18, 1995) 
    Dali Shar-Pei Club and Shar-Pei Club HK exchange seminar. (Dec.10, 1995) 
1996    Foshan dog show with Shar-Pei entries. (Mar.4, 1996) 
    Shar-Pei Show in Dali organized for the first time by the Dali county government. For the first time the show divided the breed into bone mouth and meat mouth type and competed independently of each other. (May 25, 1996) 
    NASA Shar-Pei Specialty Show in Hong Kong Kowloon Creek show ground. Divided the breed into three varieties, the bone mouth type, medium type, and meat mouth type. (Oct.13, 1996) 
1997  Ms. Pat Pearce imported first SP with HKKC registration. (Apr. 1997)  Ms. Pat Pearce visited Dali for the 4th time. Attended seminar and exchanged with local SP club. (Mar.30, 1997) 
  A bob tail SP imported into UK from USA. (Tea Bead of Chow).  Foshan Shar-Pei Show held in Foshan Science College, Guangdong, China (Apr.20, 1997) 
    First Shar-Pei National Show in Zuhai organized by NASA (Nov. 16, 1997) 
    Ms. Pat Pearce from UK judged the SP. Mr. Kariyabu and Igarashi from JKC also judged the all breed show. 
    Ms. Pat Pearce 5th visit to Dali. (Nov.18, 1997) 
1999  The first Challenge Certificate presented to a Shar-Pei at Crufts named Kyushu Nuttin' To Say by Judge Glenda Parks. (Mar. 1999)  Shar Pei Club Hong Kong held Shar Pei Specialty Show at HK Exhibition and Convention Center
(Jul.11, 1999) 
  First UK Champion female "Kolnago Red Rose". (Aug. 1999)
